There are many hard things when you sit in a service when you can't understand what they're saying. Just for you readers, I am going to list them in order from worst to alright.
1. You get very, very sleepy in the service. The reason for this is you have no idea of what they're saying , doing ,etc. My mom ,after the last Sunday service, reported she almost fell asleep! Beth & Brenna have both reported sleepiness! Even Dad and myself have had sleepiness in the service! That proves its not just me!
2. You day-dream! Day-dreaming isn't as bad as being sleepy! Sometimes I write a new message! Sometimes I think about being in the western times! You think about many things! My parents encourage me to translate the message, but unless he is preaching on wild animals, vegtebles, sports, seasons, or numbers I really won't get anything! I did get one word on Sunday, formidable, this means great.
3. You read your Bible. Thats's a good thing, but not during the service! I get really interested in some of the storys I see! On Sunday I read about the woman at the well! It was a really good story!
Now for the good stuff:
1.I am able to turn to the correct scripture! When he says Jean chapitre troi et verse seize, I know to turn to John 3:16!(Did anyone else figure that one out?)
2.I am able to turn to the correct song number! When Pastor Roy says"deux cent trente neuf" I know to turn to 239!
3. I am able to read the scripture passage from the message!
There are some good stuff and some bad stuff for either side! Either way I can't wait till I can understand the services! Now you know how it is to sit in a French service.
