Stomach Flu!!! So, since my last post, each child member of the Gimenez has thrown up multiple times. (My Mom stopped counting Brenna's at 25! eek!) But thank God we are all on the road to recovery. We all feel, somewhat, better and hope to be ready for Sunday.
Back in March of 2010, I did a post on some of my favorite preachers. I said that I would post some more of my favorites, so here you are:
Dr. Joe Arthur
Dr. Arthur is the pastor of Harvest Baptist Tabernacle in Jonesboro, GA. I have had the privelege of hearing Pastor Arthur on many occasions. I first heard Dr. Arthur preach at a Men for Christ meeting in Natchez, MS. Pastor Arthur is an amazing preacher, and I can guarantee that his messages will speak to your heart.
Dr. David Gibbs is an outstanding preacher! His hilarious stories will keep you interested in his messages, and his message will provide revival in your life. Dr. Gibbs is the founder of the Christian Law Association (CLA). This ministry helps churches in need of lawyers. Dr. Gibbs is truly a great man of God. Dr. Curtis Hutson is an excellent preacher. Unfortunately, I have never had the privelege of hearing Dr. Hutson, in person. My Dad has a few of his tapes, and I have listened to these. His messages are great and truly convicting. I believe that if a preacher doesn't preach a convicting message, then that message is not worth being preached. These are just a few more, of many, of my favorite preachers. There are still more preachers, and in the future, I will post some more.
I know, I know. It has been forever, so let me briefly review the past couple of months:
1: We finished language school (Praise the Lord!... finally!)
2: We moved into my Grandmother's house for the next few months.
3: My Dad took a trip to St. Barths to look for a house.
4: We've been dropping in on churches and been booking meetings for March.
Language school was a great experience. Would I chose to do it all over again?... Never! We had a great time, but I'm thankful that we have finished our "major" study of French. I do not have French all the way down, yet, but I hope to be a French speaking American in the near future. Grammy's house has been a great place to live in for the past few months. We have (well sort of) have our own space in which we can do what we please. Not counting, I now have Grammy's cooking every day! What could be better! I sharing my Uncle Marc's room and he has been a great roomate. Thanks so much Marc! Dad's trip went well, but no houses were open at the moment, in our budget. My Dad was able to find out about some things, like a car and other things. Everyone on St. Barths said to come back in April, because that is when their "high rental season" is over. We still need some French paper work to come in. Please pray that they will put a stamp of approval on our much needed paperwork. March is a full month of mission conferences and meetings for us (with revivals on weekdays!). We need only 8 more churches to take us on so we can leave for the field! Please pray that these meetings will provide our extra support. Thanks for your prayers!
We just moved from Quebec city, Canada in the beginning of October. We are now back in Ft. Myers living out of my grammy's new house. It is sort of squished, but we are doing well. We have had several meetings with verbal commitments to take us on when they get the funds to support us. Right now, we are at South Shore B.C. in Riverview,FL and are having a great meeting. They have a great guest speaker here from Landmark Christian College, Bro. Scotty Hester. he gave an excellent message on "The Road of Life" talking about:
1. The Duration of Life.
2. The Donation of Life.
3. The Destination of Life.
In point number 2, he used an illustration about your investements in life. He used 2 candles, and he lit one and talked about how we have only one life....etc. He then took that candle and lit the other candle and said "A cndle doesn't lose anything by lighting another candle,
just like you don't lose anything when you invest your life in the life of others". I thought that was a neat little thought to think on throughout the day.
Please pray for us, that we will:
1. Get more meetings.
2. Receive additional support, so we can get to the field.
